The Oklahoma City metro area ranked seventh in economic development among the Top 10 Southern Major Markets the last 10 years by Southern Business and Development magazine. Edmond based Energy Jobs Network now has 21 members in North America

The Energy Jobs Network's new online energy employment center located at www.energyjobsnetwork.com is attracting job seekers and employers in growing numbers, as the multiple- operator network achieves critical mass. In response to the staffing needs of the energy industry, twenty-one (21) major energy associations and media companies are working together to bring employers and qualified people together online. Already, some 300 companies in the U.S. alone are posting job openings, while resumes are coming in daily from energy industry job seekers, from across the United States. Citizens Bank opens expanded branch
Citizens Bank’s new lending offices and personal finance center recently opened for business in a spacious new expansion to the drive-through branch at 32 N. Broadway. The branch’s interior is mostly complete; however there is still work that needs to be done. The bank will eventually feature a small plaza area facing Broadway. The building has about 10,000 square feet of floor space and was partially designed by local architect David Hornbeek. We're hearing a lot about sales tax revenue these days. The nation, the state of Oklahoma and many communities within our state are feeling the effects of a budget shortfall. To this point, Edmond has weathered this storm better than most. For the state of Oklahoma retail trade is a $14 billion industry. It employs in the neighborhood of 142,000 people in our state. EEDA programs help breathe new life into Edmond’s core area

In the effort to maintain quality in Downtown Edmond, Edmond Economic Development Authority started the Bricks and Clicks program in 2001. The program was originated to help motivate Edmond’s core-area downtown business to improve the look of their physical and online store fronts, respectively. The “bricks” part of the program is mainly concerned with the renovations of the facades of stores in the downtown area. The “clicks” part of the program encourages businesses to get the most out of their Web site. In order for a business to receive assistance from the EEDA to fund the development of its Web site the business must sell merchandise online. Ranch LTD Company named new vice president

John Preston, President of The Ranch Company LTD, recently named Adam Kemmerly vice president. Founded in 2001, The Ranch Company is a residential real estate development company located in Edmond. The company is the developer of The Ranch a secluded gated community located in the City of Edmond on the north side of Coffee Creek Road, west of Coltrane. Kemmerly who joined the company in 2001 will be responsible for the oversight of the development of construction, coordination with builders and homeowners relations.
