Residents enjoy a cost of living well below the national average in a city rich with culture, entertainment and art. Edmond strives to attract progresive companies with an educated workforce, honored public school system and low crime rate.  

Edmond is home to the famous Oak Tree Golf Club, the site of the 67th Senior PGA Championship. There are more than 10 golf courses in the area, but golf is only part of Edmond's recreational activities. Arcadia Lake offers fishing, skiing, camping and 17 miles of hiking trails. Historic Downtown Edmond features diverse shopping, and the Fine Arts Institute sponsors and hosts art shows. Nearby Oklahoma City Zoo is one of the country's largest and best zoos, while Remington Park offers exciting thoroughbred horseracing.

The climate of Edmond is affected mainly by winds from the continental Great Plains, though occasionally moist air comes up from the Gulf Coast. Winters are short and mild. Summers are hot, but the heat is mitigated by low humidity.

Health Care
Edmond's first-rate health care contributes to its high quality of life. Health care is also a critical component in the site selection process therefore Edmond is proud to offer such a large variety of health care options to its citizens and business community. More than $5.5 million was invested into Edmond's health care and medical office market in 2008.

INTEGRIS Health Edmond
In early 2010, construction began on the 155,000-square-foot INTEGRIS Health Edmond, a 40-bed hospital along Interstate-35, north of 15th Street. Designed to provide world class health care services, the $94 million project will include 24 surgical beds, six intensive care units and 10 labor and delivery rooms. Single patient rooms will include wireless Internet, temperature control systems and room service dining. The hospital will also include a full service radiology and imaging department with CT, MRI and nuclear medicine technology. Additionally, a 45,000-square-foot medical office building and Jim Thorpe outpatient rehab facility will be constructed. All projects will be built as green as possible and with conservation in mind.

OU Medical Center Edmond
Edmond Medical Center
recently became OU Medical Center Edmond which allows the hospital to be fully integrated into the state’s largest hospital system and receive an initial investment of $17 million for expansion and facility enhancements. By joining with OU Medical Center, the Edmond facility will be enhanced to provide more services that are important to Edmond’s growing families, including a labor and delivery department, gynecologic services, breast surgery and diagnostic and therapeutic imaging. The Edmond Emergency Department, which treats around 21,000 patients per year, will receive renovations and expansions including a new registration area and the addition of two fast track rooms and additional treatment room.
