EEDA to host Title 22/Fox Lake Plaza forum at Real Estate Council meeting
City Councilman Charles Lamb and City Planner Bob Schiermeyer will discuss the comment draft of the Title 22 Zoning Ordinance at the Edmond Economic Development Authority's monthly Real Estate Council meeting from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 13th at the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce building, 825 E. 2nd St. This draft will be in a comment period for 60 days beginning Feb. 9 and ending April 8. The draft is a major change from the current Title 22 ordinance. There are some proposed changes in the standards, especially in the Site Plan Review. This is not a final draft, but a public discussion comment draft. At the end of the comment period the Steering Committee will meet and work to make changes as necessary to the draft. In order for the Steering Committee to consider your ideas and suggestions, they are requesting specific comments in writing. The EEDA will have copies of the draft on hand and will discuss areas of major change. Fox Lake Plaza representatives will also be on hand to show a computerized presentation on their proposed project ½ mile north of 15th and I-35. Admission is free, but reservations are required. Yowell elected to serve on Governor's Team executive board
Janet Yowell of Edmond was elected to serve as secretary on the executive committee of the Governor's Economic Development Team. Elections were held Jan. 13 in Oklahoma City. She will formally take office on Feb. 1 for a one-year term. The Governor's Economic Development Team is a private-sector organization promoting Oklahoma's business development. The Team operates in well-defined cooperation with the Governor's office and plays a major role assisting the Oklahoma Department of Commerce Office of Business Location with domestic trade missions and participating in other business recruitment activities. Vermillion receives award
Richard Vermillion has received the Medal for Distinguished Public Service from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Francis Tuttle Technology Center, the Northwest Chamber of Commerce and People's Bank invite small business owners to learn about "Financing Strategies for Small Businesses" from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 19. The seminar is the first in a series that will provide information to small business owners on how to grow their businesses. Topics include Contract CFO services; Angel Investment & venture capital; SBA loan dos and don'ts, and the advantages of community banks to small businesses.
