Wal-Mart approved on I-35

Wal-Mart’s newest supercenter is coming to Edmond. After more than four hours of debate Monday night and minor revisions to Wal-Mart’s site plan, the Edmond City Council approved the construction of a Wal-Mart Supercenter by a 3-2 vote. The 205,000-square-foot store will be located east of Fox Lake at Interstate-35 and 15th Street. The council voted to delay until June 28 consideration of the proposed Fox Lake Plaza that would be build just to the north of the proposed Wal-Mart. Click here to view the Fox Lake Plaza designs. New York cuisine coming to Downtown Edmond

A New York-style delicatessen will soon open in downtown Edmond in the former Cafe Broadway building. Chris and Brittanie Sheehan have been renovating the restaurant space and plan to open June 27. When it's all done, Sheehan's Delicatessen will be "a slice of New York in the heart of Edmond," offering fresh sandwiches, soups, salads and paninis in the front, and operating a catering business out of the back of the store that will run everything from backyard parties to 300 person dinners. Economic Development Partners this Friday
Economic Development Partners will be 8 a.m. Friday, June 18 at the Edmond Economic Development Authority, 825 E. 2nd Street. The Economic Development Partners Council is jointly operated by the Edmond Economic Development Authority and the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce. The Council meets the third Friday of each month to be updated on new developments in the business community. The meetings last an hour and involve a review of statistical data, recent business relocations and expansions and upcoming Edmond projects. Our speaker will be Ed Gray, CEO of Edmond Medical Center. He will be here to discuss new developments and improvements being made at the hospital. We hope you will make plans to attend! Please RSVP
