Edmond named one of America's Top-Rated Smaller Cities
Edmond, Okla. was recently announced one of America's Top-Rated Smaller Cities for 2004-2005 by Universal Reference Publications, an imprint of Grey House Publishing in New York. Edmond last received this honor in 2002-2003. Universal Reference Publications published a statistical profile of each of the top 100 cities in America with populations between 25,000 and 99,000 in its fifth edition "America's Top-Rated Smaller Cities." City woman spurs economic development for city, state
Sheri Stickley isn’t just another Oklahoma business woman. She’s leading what’s become a national model in the creation of an environment that is conducive for research and technology in the state of Oklahoma. As the interim executive director of the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST), Stickley is committed to building the infrastructure needed to conduct nationally competitive research and development of technology in the state. In addition to serving the state in building a positive climate for business and technology, Stickley takes a role closer to home. An Edmond resident since 1981, Stickley is serving her second term on the Edmond Economic Development Authority board of trustees. UCO administrator/EEDA trustee named president of Leadership Oklahoma
The Leadership Oklahoma Board of Directors recently elected Don Betz, provost/vice president for Academic Affairs at the University of Central Oklahoma, to head up the organization's 2004-2005 board of directors. Betz also serves on the Edmond Economic Development Authority's board of trustees. "The 2004-2005 Leadership Oklahoma Board is an exceptional and talented team of Oklahomans, each one committed to definitively enhancing the state's future," Betz said.
