Conference to look at Edmond’s future

The Edmond Economic Development Authority will provide economic and real estate predictions at the 2008 Economic Preview Book Launch and Luncheon scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at the University of Central Oklahoma. The conference will include a panel of area real estate brokers. Panel members will include Mary Grace, Grace Commercial Real Estate; Derek Turner, Turner and Co.; Brian Preston, RE/MAX Associates; William Forrest, CB Richard Ellis; and David Lide, Matrix Commercial. They will provide trends and projections in the retail, office, residential, multifamily and industrial real estate markets. Deidre Myers, director of research and economic analysis for the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, will provide an outlook for the state economy. Tourism dollars increase across Edmond

Voters OK $28.9 million bond

Edmond voters passed Edmond School District’s $28.9 million bond package including two propositions in Tuesday’s election.Cold weather and slick streets may have kept some residents home, but 5 percent of Edmond’s voters bundled up and made it to the polls.“We are very appreciative of the 85 percent approval,” David Goin, superintendent said. “Each of the approved projects will have a positive impact on student learning.” Courtesy of The Edmond Sun, December 12, 2007.
