Downtown Edmond, Technological Hub
Downtown Edmond is laced with retail enterprise, specialty restaurants, community programs and events--and Dot Commerce? It’s true. Information technology firms are linking themselves to Edmond’s homepage--the place where it all began--downtown Edmond. Many factors contribute to the attractiveness of keeping a business in Edmond and specifically the downtown area, such as availability of skilled workers from the University and the education level of the Edmond citizens. Pelco – still a thriving business
Phil Parduhn not only came up with an idea for a business, but unlike many people, he put his plan in motion. Pelco Products, a manufacturer of traffic signal hardware products, started 15 years ago with no more than six employees, including Parduhn and his son Steve. The company has expanded to more than 115 people and operates in a 100,000 square foot facility in Edmond. Parduhn credits good employees and the ability to treat them fairly as the backbone of Pelco’s success. Courtesy of The Edmond Sun, March 11, 2001. Click here for full story.
